This photo was taken on February 7, 2009 in Valparaiso, Chile. You can tell from the hubs’ expression that he was less than impressed with my sweet photography skillz. Little did he know, all that time trying to get the perfect angle would result in a super sweet picture. And in fact, this became one of my faves from our year around the world. Any thoughts?

30-Day Photography Challenge
Remember when I pronounced that I was going to do an iPhoneography challenge for the month of April. And then remember when I failed? Well – for 30 days in June and July I successfully completed a neat 30-day photography challenge that I found on pinterest! It was hosted by Mary of White Peach Photography.
You can check out the images in three batches right here on my photography blog. Or you can look at the summary shot below.
All in all it was very successful, I have mostly my almost-three-weeks of vacation to thank for getting me out off my butt every day! Next time (maybe in a few months) I’ll try to do it when I’m at home, that will be a real challenge! For now, I leave you with a quick glimpse into my 30-day challenge!
travel tuesday (london)
This picture was taken on July 21, 2008 in London. If your name is Sam (or Graham), you may be wondering how the heck this picture was taken on July 21, 2008 in London, when on July 19, 2008* I was in Vancouver at your wedding and on July 21, 2008 I was flying to Edmonton. Well, that’s because this picture was taken by the hubs. I popped home for three weeks in the summer to attend three weddings (he popped home for five days to attend one, different, wedding). A lot of the pictures in Travel Tuesday were actually taken by the hubs, and a lot were taken by me. So you, you get to see the best of both worlds. Quite literally.
*Today just so happens to be July 19, 2011. So, if your name is Sam (or Graham), this may be your three year anniversary. Happy Anniversary! I didn’t even plan this! No seriously, I slotted in this picture way back in March (yes, I’m very organized) when I didn’t even consider the dates! Serendipity.
travel … friday? (barcelona)
Looking up in the Sagrada Familia. This image was taken on Monday, July 11, 2011 in Barcelona, Spain.
I realize that it is Friday – an up to this point I’ve been very good with keeping my “Travel Tuesday” posts on time. This week though, we were in a Barcelona flat without wifi (who knew those even existed anymore!) and then we were traveling home, then it was my first day back at the office, and now it is Friday morning!
For all my good intentions of writing several blog posts while on vacation, I didn’t. I decided instead to take a real, live holiday. No writing, no lawyering, just a few amazing photoshoots that were made of magic (teasers here), and my current 30-day challenge (which, despite my previous failure, is going really well!) The vacation was the best. I feel so refreshed and rejuvenated and just plain excited about life again. Woohoo!
I’m also super excited because we have decided our next big trip is to Antarctica – in the spring (Antarctica’s fall). By doing this, both the hubs and I will have visited all 7 continents before our 30th birthdays. Holy moly!
I’ve got a busy couple of weeks coming up: I’m second shooting a wedding for the amazing Lemon Fresh Designs this weekend, then I’ve got a business trip to Vancouver next week, then I’ve got two more upcoming weddings on the August long weekend (or maybe one… if the Cameroonian groom doesn’t get his visa, keep your fingers crossed), then I’ve got a week long conference in Whistler. So please forgive me if I’m a little thin on the posts over the next little while! I’ll be back, with a vengeance, in the fall, when wedding season has calmed down a little.
Thanks for sticking through the downtime!
XOXO.
travel tuesday (carcassonne)
Yesterday we went to Carcassonne, I had never been before and it was pretty amazing. However, I was disappointed to learn that Carcassonne is a bit like Disneyland (albeit a really old Disneyland), reconstructed under the watchful eye of the detail oriented Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in 1853.
Hello!
It’s been a whirlwind of an adventure through Paris, the Loire Valley and just yesterday, we arrived in the south of France at the Chateau Ventenac. Now that we’ve settled in the Chateau for a week, I’m going to get writing again – so you can expect a handful of posts this and next week!
Despite my iPhoneography failure, I’ve decided to try my hand at a 30-day photo challenge. I found a great 30-day challenge on pinterest (my fave) and decided to do Day 1 on my first day of vacation. It’s been 9 successful days so far! You can check out the images as I post them (almost daily) over at Allison Suter Photography!
Here’s day 9 (someone you love).
