so she did

so she did

I’ve been out of the loop for awhile. A bad bout with the flu, 2012 wedding enquiries and consults coming out my ears (yay!), a full time job, wediting, and thinking and drafting a thoughtful note to be read out at my grandparents’ 60th anniversary party on the weekend has left not a lot of time for blogging.

I have done some pretty sweet stuff though. This recent wedding and this couple’s session. Using a sweet fab find certificate for martinis and manicures with one of my bffs, booking upcoming weddings at seriously awesome venues. Fiedling an enquiry for Uruguay. Uruguay! Is this real life? I’ve also been cooking lots. Including the world’s most delicious buffalo chicken mac and cheese, and eating it for dinner, breakfast and two lunches. And, as usual, I’ve been pinning away.

So, other than a whole bunch of excuses, what have I got to offer you today? Inspiration. That’s what. Two peices of graphic art that make me smile. Frist, an Audrey Hepburn quote. You can buy this pretty print on etsy!

This second one comes from Jasmine Star’s random blog post today. It makes me smile. And it’s the most repinned thing I’ve ever pinned. Ergo it is awesome.

Happy Friday people! Believe in yourselves and get out there and do it!

travel tuesday (vending)

travel tuesday (vending)

This photo was taken on November 15, 2008 in Japan.  As I’ve mentioned before, we loved Japan.  We loved it a lot.  Among all the other things Japan has going for it, it is a country that takes its vending machines seriously.  What’s not to love about that?

zucchini bread oatmeal

zucchini bread oatmeal

I have been on an Oh She Glows recipe pulling spree for the last several days. Of course, I’m pinning all of them. In the last couple of weeks, every time Anglea has tweeted a recipe, it’s pretty much been exactly what I have been craving. For instance, I’ve been on a bit of a porridge kick, and I was thinking that I should go check out some of Angela’s porridge recipes, when she tweeted “5 Favourite Hot Oatmeal Recipes” (link). Perfect timing!

The first recipe that caught my eye was Zucchini Bread Oatmeal (recipe here). Let me tell you, it was delicious! It was sweet, and zucchini-y, and cinnamon-y, and hot on a cold fall morning. As usual with Angela’s recipes, I used regular milk instead of non-dairy milk, but other than that – I stuck pretty close to the recipe, so I won’t reproduce it here. I will recommend you go over there and check out all of the delicious oatmeal recipes! YUM! Nutritious AND delicious!

This picture was taken on February 8, 2009 Valparaiso, Chile.   Yet another one for you animal lovers out there.  Or for you lovers of turquoise.  If you love both, well, you are in luck… this is your kinda picture!

outfit pinspiration

outfit pinspiration

I found the cutest business outfit on pinterest yesterday … right here. I fell madly in love with it, so decided to make my own version from things I owned in my own closet.

How did I do?

(PS – I fixed my white cuffs of my shirt – too much showing!)

Etsy Home Page

Etsy Home Page

I love the ever changing Etsy homepage.  Most days it makes me swoon (not that I check out Etsy every day or anything).  It is always a carefully curated collection of complementary items.  (I should win an alliteration award.)

Side note: I’ve always been fond of the word “alliteration” because it is sort of like a stretched out version of “allison” – if you replaced the “terati” with an “s”.  I’m also crazy.

Yesterday I feel in love with it.  It was so soothing. So calm.  So perfect. It looked like this.

Do you love it too? Do you want to buy any of the things? Like that sweet ring? Or those perfectly hued earnings?

P.S. Kudos to all the sweet Etsy vendors who are also sweet photographers. You make your wares look PRETTY!
P.P.S. On an unrelated note, did you know that HGTV Canada has all of Sarah Richardson online for free? Every single episode of Design Inc., Sarah 101, Sarah’s House, Sarah’s Cottage and other things I’ve never even heard of. Oh yeah, and there are no commercials. Love.
