A lot of people have been asking about our apartment in Buenos Aires. Ok. One person has asked about our apartment in Buenos Aires. But that is all it takes to inspire me to write a post, people!

We rented our apartment site unseen (for 3 months), through a service called ByT Argentina.

Here is the ad.

We went for location and price. Not so much style. There were only three reviews on the ByT site (all short but positive). So, needless to say, we were a little nervous. And boy, were were ever pleasantly surprised when we arrived.

The ByT staff was super friendly. The apartment is clean. The bed is comfy. It is in an ever better location than we thought it was.

This apartment costs $750 US a month (half what we were paying in Toronto). This $750 is for a furnished apartment and includes our utilities (cable, wireless internet, electricity, phone) and weekly maid service (yes, you read that right, weekly maid service). Our “maid” is our concierge’s wife. She’s lovely.

The apartment comes with a blow dryer, a blender, and an iron. We’ve got our own washing machine. There is A/C in the living room. We have a bidet. (Ok, we don’t use the bidet, but still). And my two favourite things? Our gas stove and bedside tables. Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve had a bedside table?

We even have a (not yet used) balcony.

The apartment faces into a courtyard and doesn’t get direct sunlight. This is good because it keeps it cool in here. We do, however, get a lot of reflected sunlight from the white walls in the courtyard, so it is super bright.

I admit. These pictures make this apartment look even better than it looks in real life. But hey. That’s my job. I’m a photographer.
